Two privately-owned islets just off the Atlantic coast near the little village of Le François offer the ultimate vacation escape. For the all-inclusive price of approxi-mately US$120 per person, guests are met at the airport in Le Lamentin and transported to Le François. From there they travel 20 minutes by private fishing boat to either Ilet Thierry or Ilet Oscar. Each mini-paradise has a house with five guest rooms, a full-time maid and cook, and complimentary watersports. The beachfront 19th-century houses are more rustic than elegant, but guests come here for the luxury of isolation, and the extravagance of doing something unique or the indulgence of doing nothing at all.
